Greetings, Everyone,

This is my first post. I've read the etiquette and am trying to abide by it. Here's my situation.

I want to upgrade my old iMac from OSX 10.3.9 to OSX 10.4.
I don't have a full retail copy of 10.4
I do have two install disks that say "PowerMac G5; Mac OS version 10.4.4"
These disks came with a machine which is not being used any more.
Is it <possible> to install these on my iMac?

The specs on my iMac are:
PowerPC G3
450mhz processor
256 mb RAM;
20 gb HD
Slot loading DVD player.
I am willing to buy 1 gb of ram if necessary. (Machine has sentimental value)
I am willing to buy a full retail OSX 10.4 install disk off ebay if necessary. (Obviously I'd rather use the ones I already have.)

Many thanks to the collective brain trust,
Tom

No. Those disks are meant for the PowerMac G5.

Also, mind giving me the disks if you're not going to use 'em?

Thanks for the info. Alas, I can't give them away since they belong to a colleague.
