Can anyone please tell me if stores in the UK stock iMacs with upgrades , ie 17" i7 plus ssd instead of i5 standard?

Most Apple stores just keep a stock of the standard configurations, and sometimes a couple of the most popular custom ones. If the store is out of your way I'd give them a call and ask.
