Not sure if the is the right place to post this ...

I'm playing, in my retirement, with a small audio recording studio and having lots of fun. There is one very frustrating development however. I use several keyboards, each of which is connected to my iMac via a powered hub. All of them connect to their respective software editors on the iMac except one. It always says "not connected", no matter if it is wired to the hub or directly to the iMac and no matter what usb cable I use. Also, when I try to send midi from my DAW to the keyboard, either by midi cable or by usb, there is no response (yes, I have the midi channel set properly). Again, the other keyboards work fine when receiving midi from the DAW.

A look at /About/System Report/USB shows that the device is recognized.

I thought that perhaps the keyboard is defective but a quick test with a Windows 7 laptop showed this not to be the case, as it connects and can send and receive usb data. This leads me to think that the problem lies in the iMac. But where?

I've tried all of the tests that I can think of and am now pretty frustrated. I would *really* like to be able to send midi to the keyboard from my DAW as part of a project that I'm working on and to be able to edit and save presets on the keyboard.

Cheers,

Keith
