My parents still have dial up, high speed internet is not available at their house. I know apple used to sell a USB modem and I was wondering if that works with snow leopard/lion and the i3 iMacs (from refurb store). I would like to convert them to apple computers but they need a modem so I need to confirm it will work

Or you could try getting an older AEBS that has a modem as a possible solution.

I didn't know an aebs ever was made with a modem in it. Does that wirelessly distribute the dial up then because if so that would be great for them

Most likely only going to find used ones and they only do wireless g, but when you're stuck on dialup...

You're looking for the older "futuristic looking" :D models

Not all have a modem, so do your research.
