Well, I've noticed that whenever I use the wifi on my 21.5" iMac it goes very slow and whenever I use it connected via Ethernet I never have this problem. Is this a problem with my iMac or is it just the location? My room is the farthest one from the router. Could that be a problem? Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Do have your wifi password protected. If not you should set up a WEP or some other security.

It sounds like someone or ones are hitching a ride on your bandwidth.

To see the strength of your wireless connection, hold down the alt key while clicking on the wifi symbol on the menu bar. You'll be able to see info about the connection, including what speed you're getting.

You could also try moving your computer to the same room as the router to see if you get a faster wireless connection when you're closer.
