Good morning,

It's been a lifetime since I've posted.

I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a VESA adapter for the iMac 27 inch?

Work sent me a new computer, and I didn't you now need to special order the ability to VESA mount.

I see smart solutions have been created:

VIVO, 28.99 CAD, found here on Amazon or;
HumanCentric, 62.14 CAD, found here on Amazon
NewerTech NuMount, 97.99 USD, found here at OWC (Also sells for 139.99 CAD on Amazon)

The price difference for the NewTech is substantial, and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with any of these?

Thank you.

I’ve got the Newertech one, but only because there weren’t a lot of options available to me in 2015...after I also realised I couldn’t remove the stand as per previous models.

Still attached to my 27” 5K after 4 years, so it’s doing its job - but I can’t compare it to any others as I haven’t used them.

Mine cost £69 back then.

Thanks for the response. I'm assuming you have had no need to take it off and can't comment on the scratches?

Sorry no.

It's on a heavy duty arm in my home office, and it's never needed to come off.

Don't
I have had 2 and used them with 27" APPLE Monitors. The VESA mount requires skill to get it on and off. I have put both away in the garage and will will not be using them on my new iMac Pro. If for any reason I have to take my iMac Pro in for service I don't want to go through the ritual of putting the base back on again. It's just too risky to mess with a $7000+ machine. My last one was a ERGOTRON it was just strong enough for my (24 lb) APPLE 27" LED Display. I was not very flexible and the only cute thing it did was allow me to rotate the display 90 degrees. Which I only did one time in 3 years. Not for me.

Just a note on the VESA mount. I removed the mount and replaced it several times. I never had a problem with the screws but but it was a very difficult job requiring 100% attention. The screws are very small. THE UNLOCKING is very clever but not intuitive. When I upgraded to my new Imac I chose the safe approach. If the wall mount was less invasive I might consider it again but I can’t afford to screwup like the youtube guy.
