Could a mod please remove this post, what i wished to achieve is not possible.
Hey guys...
Its me....again. Wow im seein alot more of this forum since i got my iMac.
I just wondered if the following is possible:
I have a USB-Serial cable and it connects to an O'Neil Microflash 2 Thermal printer. Those portable printers that couriers use and stuff. I got one so i could print receipts for stuff i sell. Now, i set it all up to work in windows, but i thought I'd give it a shot on my mac, the cable driver had a mac version so i installed it in hope the thermal printer would be instantly recognized but its not. So, im wondering, how can i get it setup so it'll work with OS X? I also plan to get the windows software "O'Neil printer demo" to run on OS X to via some sort of 'wrapper' i believe its called. Any help would be appreciated, and if anymore information is required, just ask.
(PS, Since windows does recognize the thermal printer, as an actual serial printer, i tried simply sharing the printer from windows to OS X via a virtual machine, that worked, but printing resulted in garbled text being printed out rather than what i wanted. The thermal printer uses a special print-system/code which is why im going to try get "O'Neil printer demo" running on OS X.)
Edit: Sorry if the title is not related to the post content itself, my original post was going to be if i could force the USB/Serial cable to act as if it was plugged into a COM Port itself. (Basically making the system think the cable was just a RS232)
