Okay - I've been planning to get an iMac now for a few months.
But last night while looking at the benchmarks I was surprised to see how powerful the quad core i7 Mac mini is.
If I were to buy the mini I would buy the SSD and ram from crucial so that would save a bit of cash.
The biggest drawback to buying the mini would be the integrated graphics intel 4000 and I rely on graphics for things like Aperture and Photoshop.

I already have a reasonable display, magic mouse and keyboard.
I calculated the price of the iMac I would buy to about 2,500 with (i5 & GTX 680MX) while I priced the mini along with SSD and ram from crucial at 1,050.

So my question is: If you were in my position which machine would you go for?
All replies are appreciated. Thanks!

What are you using it for primarily?
(Always include this info when asking questions like this)

For general home use, get the Mac mini.

For more creative design work (photo, video production) get the iMac as it has discrete graphics. Having the extra display gives you the option for duel displays for your really heavy duty feature film editing. :)

Decided to go for the iMac! I want that great all in one experience which the iMac provides!
Plus I could do with the dedicated graphics!
