I'm ready to update my system and I'm looking for advice on whether to buy an iMac or a Mac Pro. I'm a designer for film, tv, and live theatre and I do a fair amount of CAD using vectorworks, but I also do a fair amount of 3d rendering and photoshop work, along with the usual word, excel, small web programming, small amount of video workl. What is really important to me is having more than one screen, being able to have lots of apps open at once without slowing the computer down, and cost efficiency. I've read the iMac is a consumer based while the mac pro is, well, pro. But maybe the iMac is enough for what I'm doing. Any help, advice, comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I think both will do the job, however if you have the money I would go with the Mac Pro. If your work leans more to the video/3D side of things it will do a better job and you will have more upgrade options.
