Hi, I got my imac in March last year from John Lewis in the U.K. It's coming up to the end of it's 1 year year warranty but when I bought it from JL it came with a 2 year store warranty.

My question is if I wanted apple care can I buy it after the 2 year store warranty or would I have to buy it now???? Also is it worth it?? Thanks.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure with AppleCare you'll have to get it while the initial Apple warranty is still active.

AppleCare must be purchased within one year of purchase, regardless of any other extended warranty it may have. Your question is then, is AC worth it for a year of coverage?

Yes, you have to buy it whilst in the 1st year of the apple warrenty.
Checkout ebay to get it cheaper
