I bought a new 27" iMac with the i5 in late 2010 for $1999. It was stolen from the office over Christmas and the company I work for is now going to purchase me a new one.

I am afraid that if they get the cheaper ($1799) version it wont be as good as the one I had. I am inclined to tell them to get the new $1999 and possibly get the i7 in it.

I work with Photoshop doing digital paintings and Final Cut Pro editing film. I don't want it to bog down on me if they get the new, cheaper $1799 with the i5.

Do you think that will be a problem?

Thanks!
