iMac with 2 drives... Worth it?

It's of course worth it for some people. If you can afford it, it's great.
Some people do that in their Apple laptop, by using SSD and a spinning HD in the optical drive slot.

Isn't the SSD inherent benefit only faster launch time if OSX is that drive and the user data is in the HD drive?
2 Drives
I run two drive in my MBP and the OS and all my applications are installed on the 128gb ssd and all the other data (music, pictures, documents, whatever) is on the spinning disc. Oh i have windows installed on that disc too, i use it to play the occasional game which doesn't benefit from the ssd all that much. Its a great setup an ssd is amazingly quick.
