I have a late 06 Intel iMac with a wierd display issue. The onboard LCD has the right side completely unresponsive.

Anyway, pictures speak a thousand words.

Any help appreciated

Two things to consider, since this appears to be a hardware problem.

1) Does that iMac have nVidia graphics? If it does, you may have run afoul of the dreaded defective GPU problem that plagues the entire 6xxx and 7xxx series, and most of the 8xxx series.

2) If that's not the cause, have you ever attempted to clean the LCD? If you have, it's possible that, if you used the wrong cleaner, that the cleaner you used got inside the LCD and shorted something out.
