Hi guys,
I have an iMac running Sierra. I have an external monitor hooked up via a Display Port to Thunderbolt Cable. When the Mac goes to sleep for anything more than about an hour both monitors do not wake from the sleep. It's either the external that wakes or the iMac monitor, never both.
When this happens all of my desktop icons that are spread across the desktops on both monitors move to whichever monitor wakes from the sleep. The only remedy is to restart the iMac from whichever monitor has awoken and then both work as expected. However, sometimes both monitors fail to awake from sleep and I have to shutdown by holding down the power button.
This is a serious pain and did not happen with my previous external monitor which was attached via a VGA to Thunderbolt cable.
Any idea what is happening? Does High Sierra solve this issue? Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks!
