I have an iMac G3 running Tiger sharing a mouse and keyboard with my 2 PCs using a KVM + USB hub, to save space on my desk. When I switch to my either of my PCs the iMac refuses to run a screensaver or sleep the monitor. Is tthere anyway to fix this? The mouse and keyboard plugs on the iMac are USB which the KVM uses.

More information.

Sometime within the next 2 or 3 weeks I'm adding a DB-15 splitter. One side will plug into the internal DB-15 monitor plug, the other side will plug into a DB-15 to VGA convertor to connect the iMac to the KVM monitor switch as well. If I can't fix the issue with built in monitor not sleeping or going to screensaver mode I will just keep built in monitor unplugged, but I think it would be cool to have both monitors to use. Any ideas how to get an iMac G3 with Tiger to go to sleep or use screensaver when the KVM disconnects the mouse and keyboards.
