iMac won't boot off the disk

I have a 2.1 Ghz iMac G5. For some reason, everytime I try to boot from a CD, it always fails. Whats up?

What happens? Does it just boot from the HDD like usual?

Just to make sure, how are you trying to boot from the disk? Are you holding "C" while booting-up?

Yea, I hold down C and a grey "?" comes up. I don't think its because I am using a wireless keyboard. Its wierd.

You might be using the wrong/a currupted bootable CD. Make sure your using the one that came with your system, and that it doesn't have any scraches or chips.
