Hey everyone,
Hopefully I can get some help on here about my problem. My iMac has been acting super slow lately and really acting up. Well tonight it froze so I restarted it and now it won't boot back up. It gets stuck on the white screen with black apple logo and progress bar underneath. It freezes for a minute then shuts off completely. I tried running disk utility repair, but it says repair doesn't work. Any ideas?

Safe boot... hold down shift key, while powering on

try that first

If that doesn't work, try command + R, while rebooting. Then use disk utility to run first aid on the volume.

Try that 2nd.
