So I have a two year old IMac
-Running the latest version of Snow Leopard
-Has 8GB of RAM, aftermarket but I changed this out about 4 months ago with no issues
-3.2, 21", 1TB hard drive, not sure what else you'd need to know.

So I was surfing the web today, auto software update started so I clicked it to download, and then clicked Itunes to open it up. The computer just sort of froze for a minute then I had to force quit ITunes. Then Chrome became unresponsive and then the dock froze. After a hard shutdown, I had the same problem with the dock freezing, and the computer was sloooooooow. I wasn't able to use any applications or do anything. Successive restarts were useless.

After a few restarts, it stopped starting up entirely. I just get an apple logo and a grey screen.

I went through Apple's entire suggestion list (below) and nothing worked.

-Computer will NOT boot from the CD, will not even start OSX. Sometimes it just turns off while trying.

I thought it might be the aftermarket RAM (threw out the old ram apparently) but I can start the computer in Windows through the Bootcamp partition and it works fine.

Thank goodness I have an old Macbook Pro to type this one, but I'm open to ideas, suggestions ,or anything else before I take it to the local repair place on Monday.
