I have a 2009 iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X10.6.7, connected to an Apple Extreme Base Station via ethernet (although I have the same experience if I connect wirelessly). The AEBS is running firmware version 7.5.2. I'd like to access the iMac remotely from my iPad. I've tried a couple of iPad apps (Splash and PocketCloud) from home (until/unless I can get this to work on my LAN, I don't see a point to trying it off my network).

Both Splash and PocketCloud work fine as long as the iMac is awake, but I can't get either of them to wake the iMac, from either my iPad or iPhone. "Wake for network access" is checked in the Energy Saver preferences. Wake On Wireless is supported, per System Profiler, although I don't know if that matters since the iMac is connected via ethernet.

I do have an Airport Express extending the AEBS network; again, I don't know if that is pertinent. During most of my tests, the iPad or iPhone has been about two feet from the AEBS, while the AX is on the other side of the house.

I've seen this problem reported other places, but haven't been able to find a solution. Anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks,
Faye
