I have the stock 4gb in the computer as of right now, I'm running Logic on it and it's really not keeping up to speed. Can someone recommend me what ram would work best in this specific model of iMac? Thank you.
 
you have 4 RAM slots. 2 are currently occupied.
Your iMac uses and needs 204 pin PC3-8500 (1066MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM modules.
Get 2x4GB and put em into the other two slots. That'll give you 12GB.
Crucial and samsung memory is very good.
 
I thought having unequal amounts of ram in each slot would hurt performance?
 
It doesn't when you have two them in pairs (2x2GB, 2x4GB). But even if it would, its such a small amount that you will never notice it in real life.
