Hello

I just removed the DVD player from my iMac, i had such bad luck with it, stuck dvds and finally after trying to get the last one out the drive made strange spinning up noise every 4 seconds so i was sure it broke down on me., with my luck i found some info online to take the imac apart.

But now when i start it up the fan was louder then ever, full speed, and on from the moment i hit the power button, in fact i never heard it that much before, the dvd player was not even that loud with its broken down spinning up sound, so i looked on line and tried a few things, i tried resetting the SMC and a SMC fan controller, FAILED!

I found another post where a guy had his dvd stuck in the computer and removed the drive as well and one person suggested that it was due to the disconnected ODD temperature sensor which is not sending the proper input to the System Management Controller that controls the fan speeds.

I have no idea what he means, is it possible i did not reconnect something, any advise appreciated. cheers!
