So back in August I purchased a 15-inch MacBook Pro for school, which I still haven't needed for classes, and made it my everything computer while my 2010 iMac sat in the closet waiting to be bought by somebody. Well after not selling it, I took it out of the box today and set it all up and man I love this thing! The look of it is just so classy, and it's like a design piece for a room.

Turns out one of my buddies wants to buy my MacBook Pro so I will be selling it and coming back to my iMac/iPad combo, this time with a mini instead of the 2. So my current Apple family is a 21.5" 2010 iMac, black/slate iPad mini, and a gorgeous white iPhone 5.

Kind of a worthless thread I suppose, but I just wanted to spread my appreciate for, and love of, the iMac.:)

I'm just curious, why did you get a white iPhone and a black iPad? I'm talking about the colour :)

Thank! I thought people would like to match the colour :D

Well I bought the iPhone 5 first and figured the white would hold up better against scratches and whatnot due to not being anodized, and I love the look of white iPhones. When I went to the Apple store to return my iPad 4 I was immediately drawn to the black iPad mini. Considering I mainly use my iPad at home I wasn't as worried about wear and tear with it, and the black border around the screen makes everything just pop more I feel, as the display melts into the bezel.

Totally agree.

My 2010 iMac broke in April and has been sitting in a box downstairs since the beginning of summer.

Even though it's broken, I feel like bringing it upstairs and putting it on my desk just to make my room feel better. Currently I have the cords for my iMac where it used to be and it looks so bleak.

But I know that as soon as I bring it back up, the new iMac will magically be available and I'll need to take it down again...

Why would you have an iMac just sitting in a box unused. Sounds like you have more money than you know what to do with, similar to black prince on youtube. Invest you available funds wisely and not just whimsically on flashy products. I am debating buying a new iMac now, instead making do with my current windows setup and spending the money elsewhere.

The reason it was in a box in the closet was because I had someone I was selling it too, but they ended up not being able to buy it.

Indeed iMacs are beautiful..(early 2009 24")

lol @ spork..

Here's a little more iMac (and plant) porn..

so I'm curious about your room. (and yes, the iMac porn was stimulating. I stroked my credit card repeatedly...) It looks like it is lined with some kind of reflective heat shield. Tell me more...

This room was a dusty 120+ year old attic.. I needed a cave so I dressed it up with this silver foil blanket insulation to keep in warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.. A quick, easy and inexpensive wall covering fix with the benefits of energy efficiency.. Looks OK too..

I figured you'd lined it with foil so you didn't need to wear it on your head at home. ;)

Skylights? The whole "otherworldly star trek set" look goes perfectly with the computers. You do need a lampshade g4 to round out the design elements. I see possibilities for my attic...

Do you get interference with wireless? Clandestine confirmation from the SETI network? :D
