Image Burnt Into Sony TV/Monitor

Hey

My dad just brought home a tv/monitor from work that they were throwing away cause they are buying a new one. Apparently when it was purchased from the manufacturer they didnt get a video card in it for tv because it was going to be used only to display some information that was being monitored. Well, now there is a grid burned into the screen and i was wondering if there is any way to get rid of this? Some type of new card? New screen?

Wasn't sure where to post this question but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sad to say, nope. That is screen burn-in and it is physically in the phosphors. No reset, no software, nothing.
