I am trying to bulk-delete photos from my iPhone 5S running iOS 8.4 (after unlocking my iPhone. Naturally.)

As an aside, iPhoto has been showing each image on the iPhone twice, even though I see no duplicates in iOS Photos. I'm guessing it's seeing thumbnails or something. As an added bonus, when I go to import photos using iPhoto, it crashes. No report screen either - just a cold crash.

My iMac is still running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). When I look at the photos on my phone using Image Capture they all have a lock icon. I can select them and download them, but I cannot delete them from my iPhone.

I also tried connecting it to my work PC running Windows 7. Again, in Explorer I can see the files but cannot delete them. I get a Windows Error saying something like "Me Grog. Grog can no lose cave drawings. Woman say no permissions. Ugh. Me go sleep from fail. Burp."

All the photos and videos have been downloaded. I just need to wipe it clean.

Any final suggestions?
