I am having a lot of trouble getting the video from my Panasonic palmcorder into the Imovie, or any, program on an eMac computer. Attempting to import gives the error message "quicktime can't parse -43". Attempting to use Image Capture just tells me there is no connection, even though everything is on via the firewire cable and the camera is charged and running.

I'm able to use the digital card only because I can take it out and put it in a dock on a PC, I cannot get that card's memory into the Mac. (this camera has both tape and memory card)

What I really want to do is just load the raw tape (about 4 minutes at a time) and convert it on the mac to a WMV file (which Quicktime claims to provide) so that I can then send the WMV file to a PC-accessible program for download & edit.

Can anyone help? TYIA.
