I'm writing this so that others may not go thru the pain I did...

If you use Image Capture to download photos from the iPhone you can choose a destination folder.

I normally create a local file on the desktop and then process the images there. So you create and select the folder, select the images and press import (with auto delete of images on iPhone).

All is good until you decide to trash the image capture destination folder but do not empty the trash(1).

Later when you decide to download some more photos you create a new temporary folder on the desktop with the same name. (yes - by habit)

And here the problems begin because image capture will still be linked to the folder in the trash; and not the new folder with the same name on the desktop.

After you import the photos you are faced with some panic as you know you have downloaded the photos; only cannot find them in the desktop folder. They are in the folder in the Trash.

(1) However; If you empty the trash; Image Capture swaps back to Pictures folder.

Personally I think this is a bug; Image Capture should not allow download to a folder that is within the Trash.
