image dimensions show 0x0 in finder..???

just bought a new mac pro and when i look at my CR2 files in finder it shows the image dimensions of 0x0 under the thumbnail. when i open them in cs4 all is good though. and I can also see the image dimensions when I look on a external HDD.

any suggestions on being able to see the correct image dimensions.

running 10.5.6
