Hey all,
Just wanting to start a little poll here on iPad 4 image retention to see how widespread it really is.
Basically, I took my iPad 4 to see a genius for image retention on the screen but they said it's a normal occurrence and it is due to the IPS display. It is seen with the Macbook Pro and they said it will not get worse over time.
I found this hard to believe.
I've had the iPad 2, 3 and now 4 and have not had this issue before. Further, I only just noticed this issue now, 6 months after using it pretty much every day...
Basically, I want to know how 'normal' this thing is and whether or not I should really press for an exchange.
I've devised a little test.
Open safari, or any other app that changes the top bar to black, so that the "iPad" word on the top left corner is in grey, with black background.
Leave it like that for 20 - 30 minutes.
next, switch your wallpaper to the second last wallpaper of the default wallpaper list. it's one of the green background and a yellow tulip in the middle.
next, activate the multitasking bar.
now, examine the top left hand corner, where the word 'iPad' used to be.
Is there a 'ghost' of that word that persisted?
On mine, it would disappear within the hour.
But would appear very quickly....
