image pixelating final cut

Hello I'm working on a mac pro 8 core 2.8 with leopard 10.5.8 with fcp 7. I'm doing a slideshow (unfortunately at the last minute) for a friend and when I put the image in the timeline it gets noticeably pixelated. My sequence settings were apple pro res 422 1280x720 and the pic res was about 4000x2000 (roughly). What is odd is that when i view that picture in the viewer it look fine.
Btw i do the desktop preview on my acd 20' and it looks pixelated the stills. When I've viewed video over the monitor it looks perfectly fine (i know its not broadcast safe only special crt monitors are for that) .

Please i need responses asap. Thank you.

The Canvas or full screen preview does not show the full quality.

Is the image still pixelated when you export the sequence?

Yep the same thing happens.

Make sure the pictures are evenly divisable by 4 in both dimensions.
