So those of you who have used IP, there’s the option to select a person. I’ve enjoyed playing with this, but have also noticed it doesn’t show me all of the people that are identified in my Photos app.

Is there a reason for this? There doesn’t seem to be a way to manually select additional ones either.

It’s a little racist too. I typed in blonde white woman and it instead gave me asian or black character with blonde hair. Wtf? Im American born Chinese. But still wtaf?

This wasn’t really intended as an IP feedback thread, there’s already one of those. This thread had a specific question I want help with.

But also, I made a blonde white woman in 10 seconds. No racism detected.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m having the same problem. And the person it won’t let me choose is my wife, which makes the possibilities way less fun…

I had this problem as well. Whenever adding new people to "People and Pets" in the Photos app, the system needs a lot of time to process the photo library. You'll see a tiny message at the bottom of the Photos app that says to power your device and lock it for this process to occur. How long this takes will greatly depend on the photo library size. Eventually, those newly added people should show up in Image Island and Genmoji, but it can take a very long time.

You can also add photos manually. Tim Cook is not in my People section but I had no problem creating an image using a screenshot saved to my Photos app.

I have the same issue. I asked at an Apple Store and they couldn’t figure it out. Sometimes if I type in the person’s name I can get their image even if they don’t show up in the list.

Can you explain how you did this in. more detail?

There’s not much to it. Simply download a photo or take a screenshot with the person you want to use in your image and save it to Photos. Then in image playground hit the “+” at the lower right of your iPhone screen, select Choose Photo and pick the photo you just saved.

Unfortunately, it takes the entire picture rather than the face :(.
