I remember someone who had an adroid and took a picture of some random item and it pulled up information on it. It worked on places, objects, and titles. Is there an app like this for the iphone?

What you're referring to is Google Goggles. Yes, it's amazing. Unfortunately, Google also said Google Navigation would be coming to the iPhone, and now it looks like that will never happen. Therefore, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say the iPhone won't get Goggles.

Even if they did get another wanna-be Goggles type app, no one could ever even come close to the amount of pictures that Google has indexed. Therefore, the experience would be very sub-par.

iPhone/Apple -1

Is there anyway i could press charges / sue google over this? The iPhone is the industry standard for all phones and them refusing to make this app for the iPhone could cost them alot of money in law suits. I for one will not stand for it. I know it's been announced but it shouldn't take this long and they should be fined.

He's got to be kidding and just forgot the smileys.

I'm just stating the facts, if you can't handle it please leave the thread. I'm going to pursue this.

I guess he was being serious...just as I will be:

Yes, of course you can sue Google over this. You have at least a 99.99% chance of winning too. How dare them make a product and put it on their own devices and refuse to give to their competitors for free. You should liquidate all your assets and put all your money into this lawsuit. You will be a millionaire. I really really wish I thought of this first.

the amazon app does image recognition for stuff you want to remember, I've messed about with it and most dvds an blu-rays I have snapped pics of it's recognized and I even tried books and yeh found them in their inventory too
