Images from imessages inconsistencies

Hi,

sometimes when I receive an image via imessage, it's being displayed on the watch. On other occasions it tells me to look it up on the phone.
I can't see a pattern there?

Any thoughts what's causing this?

I've noticed this too - can't spot the pattern.

If you are told to look at the image on your iphone and open Messages on your watch the image still displays.

It seems to be that any widescreen horizontal picture won't show on watch but long vertical pictures show on the watch.
