Ever since upgrading to iPadOS on my iPad, selected images in Safari no longer enlarge to full screen as in IOS 12. Instead, the screen splits into small images based on my search on the left, and a panel on the right with a smaller version of the selected image. I looked for a Safari setting that might change to display a full screen image as before, but with no luck. Chrome still handles images the old way, so I'm tending to use that for this purpose instead.

Anyone else run into this?

I’m pretty sure that was a Google update, my Mac behaves the same way. In iPadOS websites are displayed as the desktop version automatically. Try clicking the AA” in the address bar and select “request mobile site” and that may fix it. I don’t own an iPad so I’m not sure how it works there, but that’s how it works on my iPhone so I’m assuming it’ll be the same for the iPad.

That was it! I forgot that iPadOS tries to emulate Mac desktop, and that this default can be changed back to mobile. Thanks much!!
