We frequently paste graphs and images from lab software into excel or word. generally, there's a "copy data" command or just a generic copy of a graph or table. looks like it copies to the clipboard and then goes into the office app just fine (office 2007).

but open up the same file in 2008 (excel or word), the images are garbled. letters tend to overlap each other, and figures in graphs are just wrong. one thing i tested was pasting into paint first, save it as a png, then insert it into the office app. open in 2008, and it looks fine. my suspicion is that what's being copied is not really an image but something else?

i'm hoping someone else has seen this....

thanks in advance.
