iMail and pulliing in Gmail IMAP Acct

I am using iMail and have a .Mac acct which is no problem, however I am pulling in my Gmail acct which is set too IMAP. Kinda getting tired of seeing all the spam and seperate GMAIL acct folders listed under the . Mac acct and was wondering if there are any tricks to get rid of the spam or all the folders and just set up a rule so that when pulling from the GMAIL acct it all goes in a folder, and I do NOT see all the other folders? Something tells me I am stuck with this but it does hurt to ask.
