iMail IMAP Sent Items

I have configured iMail with an IMAP server and in the preferences it is set to store sent messages on the server, however it just holds them in it's local Sent folder and does not automatically move them to the Sent Items on the IMAP server, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
 
I'm assuming you're talking about Apple's Mail. This works for me with Mail on Tiger...

Select the IMAP folder you want to use for Sent mail. Then, Mailbox menu -> Use This Mailbox For -> Sent
