Hello everyone,

Happy Holidays!

I use the built-in mail app in Lion for all my email needs. It has four accounts, all of the using IMAP.

I moved to Macs for personal use in 2011, so this is my first year archiving email under OSX.

I cannot find an overall archive feature in Mail to do an entire account or even an entire mailbox; it seems I have to select specific messages before I can archive them.

However, I noticed that I can access any old emails via Time Machine, so I am wondering if this is sufficient.

If I simply delete all of my older email (based on my archiving needs) am I correct in assuming they will remain in Time Machine and I can retrieve them as needed at some later date?

If this does not work, what are some typical archiving solutions for IMAP accounts?

Thanks.
