I use IMAP to get e-mail (not GMail) on the iPod Touch JB 1.1.1 and have run across a strange issue.
I can connect and send and receive e-mail fine. I have all of my subfolders showing up on the Touch and access to the e-mails in them. If I delete an e-mail on the server it deletes from the iPod.
If I move an e-mail on the iPod from a subfolder to InBox the change is immediately reflected on the server.
The issue I'm having is when I delete an e-mail on the iPod the e-mail deletes on the iPod but stays in the InBox on the server. Very strange.
Am I missing a setting somewhere? Any way to set it up so if I delete an e-mail on the iPod this delete also happens on the server? I tried setting the delete option in the Mail Settings on the Touch to the "deleted items" folder on the server and to "Trash" on the device and neither worked. When I was using a Palm Treo for e-mail I didn't have this issue so it doesn't appear to be a server-side issue but more of something with the iPod Touch e-mail program. Any advice on this?
Is there any reason to believe the 1.13 (purchased) e-mail program for the Touch would work differently (i.e. not have this problem)?
TIA
