Imap list breaking all the time

Hi I use Entourage for mail and have Imap set up for one of my accounts. Over the last month or so the list needs repaired pretty much after every email that is sent. It displays duplicate messages of the mail that come in, sometimes two, sometimes up to six or seven! Which is sorted with a repair list thing, but i never remember this happening before. Is it to do with the size? There's almost 700 messages on that account now. Or a server side things. it's a uni account and no one i have asked say it happens to them. Just very annoying to have to do it every time.
