Seems like just what I want, a way to get iPhone to support IMAP IDLE and push new messages for any IMAP account that supports IDLE like my fastmail.fm.

http://ride4.org/shai.xml source fails to load, this repo gone?
Anything take the place of this app that I don't know about?

I too have been wanting IMAP IDLE on my iphone for years as my normal email Rackspace account supports this fully. There is nothing now that supports it but I do use the pushmail extension which does an extremely credible job. Within 6 seconds of an email hitting my Rackspace inbox folder I get a push notification from pushmail (iTunes store). It is highly configurable in so many ways. Here is the author's webpage who happens, since writing the app, to have become a Google engineer.

Not sure I like solutions like this where you have to auto foreword every email to them to get the notifications. But is better than the last solution I saw where it needed your imap login credentials.

I'm not thinking today. I have gmail set to push on my iPhone, so I just set mail forwarding with subject only in fastmail to my gmail account. Now I get notifications on fastmail email via gmail exchange push.
