iPod touch iMessage 9.2.3

I recently upgraded a fifth generation iPod Touch and ran into strange problem with iMessage.

After I look at the message and go to the home screen/another application/lock the device and come back to it the message is no where to be seen.

I haven't had much luck looking into the issue, but I was wondering if anybody else has ran into the issue/knows how to fix this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why don't you do a Reset Network Settings, if you haven't done so already.
