Tonight I went to send an iMessage from my iPhone 11 Pro (iOS 14.7.1). I hit “new message” and typed the name of my friend in the “to” box. I noticed that my latest text thread with this particular friend was quite some time ago (which was correct), so I’m 100% confident that I had selected the correct friend as a singular iMessage recipient. I typed my message, hit send, and then I noticed that my message was sent in a group chat that had been active tonight. This made no sense to me. But then I remembered that pretty much the same scenario happened with my father and a family group iMessage about a month ago. There had been a family thread, but he insists he privately messaged me yet it popped up in the family group chat. I assumed he’s just getting older and was confused but now I see that the same thing happened to me. Anyone have any idea what’s going on?
