iMessage activation issue on 5s/ios 7.0.2

I have 7.0.2 on my ATT 5s and I cannot no activate i get an "iMessage Activation: an error occured during activation" message when I try to add my itunes account email to activate iMessage.

I've done the recommended (turn off facetime/imessage, reset network settings) but nothing works.

I can send imessages using my cell # but I want integration like before with Messages app on Macbook where I can continue conversations on iphone/mac.

My other cellphone number on ios 7.0 Verizon 4s is recognized on Messages under "Preferences/Accounts/" in the itunes account imessage option window. But there is no checkbox for my ATT number.

What can I do?

I've had this exact same problem since I've got my 5s, and I haven't found a solution. I'm on 7.0.

Me too. Apple tech support told me to erase all content and settings. Then start fresh. That's like cutting off your arm because you got a splinter in your finger.

Did it work when you erased everything?

I now have separate imessage threads on iphone and mac because mac cannot access my imessage # anymore. I was able to continue iphone imessage conversations on my mac (10.8.5) no problem until ios 7.

My sister has had imessage issues with her iphone 4 ever since the 7.0.2 update, but I'm having none on my 5S. Hopefully an update will correct the problem for those who are having it soon.

I had that same problem on my 4S, but after doing an "Erase all content & settings" and restore, it fixed it... That was back on iOS6 though...???
