imessage activation problem

I have iphone 4s running ios 5.1.1(without jailbreak)
When i turn on imessage i can use my email id for imessage but i cannot use my phone no. For imessage.
It keeps on saying waiting for activation.
Plz help me out
It was working grate on ios5.0.1 but after update the problem has started
Same problem on iphone 3gs running ios5.0.1

Myself got the solution
Imessage usin phone no requires verification from apple server. So when u turn on imessage it sends a message to apple server which requires international charges for sms(in india it is 5rs/international sms)
I was having low balance. So i recharged my prepaid card and then turned imessage on
And whithen 2 sec it was activated.....!!!!!
