iMessage and cross carrier Emoji

Now that there is iMessage for iOS5, will emoji work across all networks?

I understand under current iOS4 with regular text messaging, verizon and att can't see emoji icons except for certain conditions (att to verizon but not verizon to att or vice versa).


anyone else looking forward to that?

It's not about the network, it's about if the phone supports it. Those smileys have always been in iOS just not enabled in the system, that's what the third party apps did.
