iMessage and Facebook

Hello,
Adding to the Messenger app Facebook account by adding jabber account the following parameters:
user@chat.facebook.com
Automatic server settings
SSL unchecked

Account like logs but then disconnects. In addition, they do not appear in any contacts with facebook.

Can anyone help?


The system is the latest El Capitan

I'm pretty sure that won't work anymore, facebook disabled the use of that API in April of this year

It does work - I'm using this method with El Capitan - the reason you're not seeing anyone in your list is because they are on mobile and idle on Facebook. As soon as they log in to the Messenger app and/or Facebook Web they show up.

There's no magic to it. Just add your user and the chat.facebook.com server and let everything else be. Use port 5222 and turn off SSL (SSL is port 5223 I think)

Actually it works I did not know that you have open in Safari window and turn on the facebook chat. So this is the only known and active solution to this time?
