iMessage(and normal message) notifications making sound only on Mac

Since I've updated to iOS 12 and Mojave every message notification is 'beeping' only on Mac, non on my iPhone(even still the message notification is showing up on the iPhone), is that a Mojave or a iOS 12 issue? How do I solve that?

[Before updating the Mac to Mojave there wasn't this issue even with iOS 12 on the iPhone]
[doublepost=1538134986][/doublepost]I've tried enabling do not disturb on Mac an the notifications are 'beeping' again on the phone, maybe this issue has something to do with handoff?
