iMessage contact formatting errors

When opening the messages app my pinned conversations have lost the names and pictures associated to that person/contact.

After installing IOS16, all contacts show as +44**** (im in the UK) as opposed to 07******, has anybody else seen this. Adding both variations of the number to the contacts card in the contacts app is not correcting the issue either.

I remember in a previous IOS (14 I think) something similar was happening, and it was eventually fixed.

Any ideas or just anybody else with the same?

This is driving me nuts, I have tried everything apart from deleting all contacts and starting to build them again.

I really don't want to have to do that!

It's annoying, but I found that storing all the contacts in international format works, sort of - messages still acts weird and will only show contact names when clicked on sometimes, but after a reboot it all seems to be back if you store the contacts in international format.
