iMessage doesn't update between Mac & iPhone

hi all,

I use an MacBook Pro and an iPhone that are both receiving messages on the same email address and mobile phone number. For some reason, the messages are not in sync between each other and they seem to have separate message conversations despite receiving messages on both perfectly.

I've tried logging out of the Apple ID on both the MacBook Pro and the iPhone, to no avail.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

What versions of macOS and iOS are you running? Is Messages in iCloud turned on both devices?

Just switched on Message in iCloud on both. They both started to sync something, but nothing actually happened...

macOS 10.13.6
iOS 11.4.1

Yeah it's been almost a month now & nothing has changed.

Any ideas? Or I'll call Apple about this.
