iPhone iMessage + dual sim: second chat with my second sim for the same contact?

Hi guys,

i just updated to iOS13 on an iPhone Xs and I am using dual sim.

Before updating, I started chatting to person1 with phone number1 (sim1). After some time, I changed iMessage to phone number2 (sim2) and continued chatting with person1 and changed back a few times.

Question: I want to open a second chat with my second sim for the same contact. Is there any way how to do that or how to change number for the same contact and stay in the same chat?


I talked to Apple and they said there is no other way than deleting the previous chat.
